Middle School Ministry

Embracing the faith

We challenge students to embrace the faith and make it their own. Each Wednesday, we cover topics relevant to life and key pieces of being a follower of Jesus today.

Join us to uncover the radical life of Jesus, his death and resurrection, our identity in Christ, sharing our faith, serving others, the Bible, prayer, worship, and the Holy Spirit.

Mile Markers for Middle Schoolers

Along a student's journey they will encounter important mile markers of their faith. As a church, we support them along this path and celebrate the turning points in their personal walk with Jesus.

  • Confirmation
  • Retreats

Join Us Wednesdays!

Join us every Wednesday night during the school year as kids gather for games, music, and a large group message relevant to their lives before breaking off into small groups to dive deeper into the lesson.

Each night is focused on building connections and providing a space for each kid to have fun, be themselves, and grow in their faith.

Small-Group Leaders

Middle School and High School Leaders are the adult small group leaders for the Middle School Ministry (6-8th grade) and the High School Ministry (9-12th grade) students. A leader models an authentic growing faith in Jesus Christ that is contagious for students and encourages their discipleship. We are passionate about providing our High School students with discipleship opportunities where you can come alongside younger students while growing in your own leadership ability and spiritual lives. Students in 9-12th grade are invited to serve as student leaders in middle school small groups.

Retreats

You can register for the retreat on a separate Registration Form closer to the Retreat dates.

All students are expected to attend the Student Ministries Retreat with their small group.

For students entering 8th, grade-At least one retreat is required for Confirmation. However, please remember that these are deeply impactful weekends for students’ relationship with Christ and their small group. We place a high value on our retreats and encourage participation EVERY year. Retreats are key mile markers for students embracing and living the faith in Middle School and High School Ministries.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a chance for you to publicly acknowledge faith in Jesus Christ and proclaim your faith as your own. It's not the “end” of one’s faith journey, but it affirms you are on a personal journey to know Christ more.

Participation in Confirmation is an optional part of our Middle School Ministry. Regardless of the choice to go through confirmation, all 8th grade students will transition to the High School Ministry as a small group in the spring.

What is the Confirmation Process?

The process often begins in 6th grade in the Middle School Ministry, though students may join as late as their 8th-grade year.

Throughout your time in middle school, you will have opportunities to embrace core elements of your faith during weekly worship, messages, and small group discussions and annual retreats.

Once you've completed your Confirmation requirements, you will have several opportunities to discuss your choice to be confirmed with the Middle School Coordinator, your small group, and your small group leader(s). Whether or not you choose to be confirmed, April through May of your 8th-grade year will be a preview of High School Ministry.

Confirmation Requirements:

  • Consistent and active participation in Middle School or High School Ministry
  • Participation in at least one Middle School or High School Retreat
  • Completion of a written Faith Statement
  • Faith Statement meeting with your small group leader(s)

High School students who are interested in participating in Confirmation, may contact our Campus Student Ministries Coordinators to get more information!
