Catalyst (Grades 9-12)

Catalyst (Grades 9-12)

Catalyst is Hosanna’s Wednesday night Senior High ministry. Students experience engaging worship, dynamic, Jesus-centered teaching, prayer ministry, serving opportunities, and interactive small groups.

What do we teach?

We challenge students to live their faith so that God’s character becomes evident in every area of their life. In Catalyst, we teach students how to practically live out their faith in a way that reflects Christ and His heart for all people. We believe that God is looking for partners to join in His redemption of all of Creation. Our teachings are focused on developing young men and women who find their identity in Christ, are empowered through the Holy Spirit and are passionate about making an impact in our world.

Key Mile Markers on a student’s journey towards living the faith include; Catalyst Retreat, Impact Trips, and Small Groups.

Catalyst Small Groups

Catalyst Small Groups are the heart of Catalyst and consist of 8–10 students of the same gender and two Catalyst Leaders. Small groups create a safe place for students to discuss questions about God, while encouraging each other in their daily walks with Christ. To allow for the rapid growth Youth Ministries is experiencing, when students reach 10 per group, sub-groups will be formed for small group discussion time. In this way, students can enjoy being part of their larger group but continue to invite friends and have more chance for meaningful small group discussions.

Retreats are typically pivotal for students in grades 7 through 12 towards embracing and living the faith. When you register for PowerLife and Catalyst; the registration for an annual retreat is included. Retreats are a highlight for students, and a unique opportunity to unplug from their everyday routine. This helps build relationships in the small group and fosters more meaningful discussions on regular programming nights.

Can I invite friends to Catalyst?

Yes! Bring your friends! If they are interested, we will encourage them to register to be officially placed in a small group. Small groups are central to the Catalyst experience, and new students are welcome to join Catalyst throughout the year.

Student Leadership

We are passionate about providing our students with discipleship opportunities where they can come alongside younger students while growing in their own leadership ability and spiritual lives. We invite students in grades 9–12 to serve as Student Leaders in PowerLife small groups. For more information, email us at students@hosannalc.org

Impact Trips

Impact Trips offer a variety of experiences for students to live beyond themselves, impact and be impacted by the places they serve, and be blessed by God working through them. It is our desire that these short-term trips turn into a lifelong desire to serve this world the way Jesus has served us. Impact Trip information can be found here.
