Doubting God, Part One
One of the core ideas of Christianity is that of a “trusting relationship” with Jesus. When we first encounter this relationship as new believers, we are usually blown away and overwhelmed with the love and grace we are experiencing for the first time. Everything seems crystal clear.
Then, as time goes on and we begin to experience some of the darker parts of life, what once seemed so clear can grow cloudy and cracked. Often, this experience is described as feeling of “separation” from God. Feeling this sense of separation can affect every aspect of our lives. Particularly, it can lead into a deep-seated sense of doubt regarding God’s existence, purposes, character, and our own relationship to him.
