Thank you!

Where to begin to thank over 1,000 people for helping make 40,000 sandwiches is really hard! First we have to thank God for He is the orchestrator of all things! Wow! What an awesome God we serve! There were so many people who were apart of such an amazing project! Thank you to each and every one of you who took part in this. I have been getting cards, letters and phone calls from the organizations that we delivered sandwiches to. I just have to share some of them with you.

From Grace Lutheran Church
“On behalf of the guests and volunteers at Community Meals at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, thank you for your generous gift of 250 sandwiches. ‘Faith is more than what we say, think and feel; it is what we do.’ Your act of kindness touched and benefited so many. Please know we are eternally grateful…”
Lynda Holland & Naomi Owen, Program Co-Chairs

From Catholic Charities
“I hope that you and everyone involved with the sandwich-making project are recovering nicely from your hard work and dedication. We were certainly blessed by your generosity in receiving over 300 sandwiches! We applaud the Hosanna youth community for turning their compassion into action and helping feed the hungry and homeless.

Sandwiches are a great contribution, because they can be used to create a mean and they can be handed out so individuals can eat them later that day when meal service is no longer available. Your special ingredient (love) made the sandwiches extra special! Your kindness is greatly appreciated and we are honored that you chose to give your sandwiches to the clients of Catholic Charities Branch III.

Again, thank you very much for your awesome efforts!”

Peace,
Lisa Geehan, Program Manager

From Hospitality House Youth Directions
Thank you so much for the sandwiches! I have been hearing stories of the many people who received them through us …through you…through Christ:

· our North Mpls kids in Sat. Art Class, Urban Learning Center after school program, and our basketball teams
· the many homeless served through our 1st Community Recovery Church
· our partnering volunteer group from Eden Prairie Covenant Church that worked hard serving us last Saturday

(thank you for allowing us to thank them with sandwiches)

Our current applications show that close to 75% of our students in our Urban Learning Center program come from families with a household income of $39,000 or less. Your sandwiches and prayers are always appreciated as we bring much needed hope through Christ to our urban youth and the North Mpls community.

There have also been numerous phone calls. So a big thank you to all of you!

363 Days - Church-wide Service Project

Join in our church-wide serving project - “363 Days”

363 Days Service Project

Few things make a small group better than serving together. While we will offer numerous opportunities for serving, we are featuring the organization “363 Days ” for our church-wide service project. Each year, various organizations feed the homeless on Thanksgiving and Christmas. 363 was established with the other days in mind. Their ultimate goal is to help feed homeless people in Minneapolis everyday of the year. On March 20-21, 2009 our goal is to make 40,000 sandwiches for “363” and other homeless shelters.

To help defray the cost of the items need to make the sandwiches, there is a $5 per person cost for those making sandwiches. You can also help in other ways.

We will prepare sandwiches from 9 am - 9 pm on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21.
