Hosanna! Student Ministries exist to help students develop an authentic faith that works in the real world. Through the PowerLife (grades 6-8) and Catalyst (grades 9-12) programs, students can deepen their understanding of what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to minister to students as they develop a sense of community through dynamic worship, interactive small group experiences, progressive mission opportunities, and other large group events.

What is Catalyst ?
Catalyst is our Wednesday night Senior High ministry for grades 9-12 graders. Each week students experience engaging worship, dynamic, Bible-centered teaching, multimedia, and interactive small groups. These small groups are the strength of our program as they create a safe place for students to talk about everyday worries, questions about God, and tough issues while being cared for by their small group leader.
What is Beyond Catalyst?
Beyond Catalyst is for students who desire to dig into scripture and explore what it means to live a life for God beyond themselves. Each Sunday starting on September 21, Beyond Catalyst students will gather in Room 14, enjoy free food and study God’s Word as they challenge themselves to live out their faith beyond the walls of the church.
What do we teach?
Using Hosanna’s Five Core Values of Intimacy with God, Loving Relationships, Generosity, Serving, and Evangelism as our compass, we will challenge students in their faith with the following teaching themes:
• Sin
• Salvation
• Grace
• Generosity
• Christian living
• Identity in Christ
• Evangelism
• Social justice issues
• Parental relationships
• Handling crisis
• Purity
• Christian worldview
We will help students learn how to personally apply these lessons in order to live out a strong faith in the real world.
How are Catalyst small groups formed?
Through online registration, Small Groups are formed in two ways; students may choose to continue in their Paks from PowerLife, while others may indicate preferences of friends they would like in their Small Group. We will place students in Small Groups with at least one of their requested friends. Small Groups will consist of a Catalyst Youth Leader and 8-10 students of the same gender.
Can students invite friends?
Students are welcome to invite friends to the Catalyst Worship Service, Catalyst Connect and Beyond Catalyst. There is no registration necessary for Beyond Catalyst or the Catalyst Worship Service and anyone can attend. Friends can visit Catalyst Connect, but ideally, if they’ve attended twice, we would like them to register online so we can place them in a Small Group.
Are service opportunities available?
A core value of Catalyst is to reach our world with the salvation message of Jesus Christ. Students involved in Catalyst will participate in community service nights (Outreach Nights) several times during the year. For those who want to serve for an extended period of time, summer mission trips are a great option.
