Seasonal and One-Time Opportunities

Are you interested in serving for a limited time? Take a look at the Seasonal Opportunities and apply online.

Assist with light housekeeping, simple repairs, and help us keep our building looking great!
Sundays | 30 minute opportunities following services
There are numerous once-a-month volunteer opportunities for small groups or families with children ages 10+.

Gardening Angels
Assist with pruning, weeding, planting, watering, and taking care of shrubs, trees, and landscaping. 20 volunteers needed for the season.
Flexible day/time, two hour shift, once/week.

Baptism Hospitality Team Member 
Assist families and pastoral team during baptisms by helping with room set up, greeting, and guiding families during the service as well as helping to keep supplies ready.
Saturday 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., one shift, every other month.

Adult Mentors • Group Leaders • Assistants

Welcome participants and facilitate table discussions. Prepared materials available for most. Guide and work with individuals to deepen their relationship with the Lord and grow in their spiritual walk.

Commitment: 6 months-1 year, facilitate at least two courses annually, 3-5 hours weekly including preparation
Skills: Group facilitation, strong listening skills, spiritual maturity, able to keep balance in participation, and encourage spiritual growth of participants.
Can be done by: Individuals, couples

Child Care

Work with children from birth to elementary age. Rock babies, play with toddlers, make craft projects, or tutor children needing assistance with assignments. Pick the age you love and make an impact!

Commitment: Weekdays: Wednesday or Thursday 9 a.m.-12 noon or Tuesday 4:30-6 p.m.
Skills: Patience, able to lift, sit on the floor, bend, and interact with children.
Can be done by: Teens 14+, individuals, & couples

Communion Assistant Teams

Volunteer to help us remember the Lord’s Supper. Help prepare and refill trays, or serve communion in the Worship Center.

Commitment: Weekends 2-4 hours first weekend of each month or help with First Communion the second Saturday of November and March.
Skills: Attention to detail, ability to work in a team, poise, a heart for serving
Can be done by: Individuals, couples, parents with teens 16+

Customer Service

Provide a friendly smile and serve customers in a fun, fast- paced environment in Daily Bread Books or One-Way Café. Serve coffee drinks or ring-up sales!

Commitment: Weeknight and weekend opportunities, 90 minutes-3 hour shifts
Skills: Customer service, teamwork, willingness to learn cash register and coffee machines.
Can be done by: Individuals, couples, parents with teens 14+

Children’s Leaders • Room Assistants

Children’s programs are not ‘old school, Sunday School;’ ‘same goes for Wednesday evening programs! Present a Bible dramatization, tell a story, lead a group, or help in low touch responsibilities by guiding and assisting with other small group leaders. Choose the age you prefer to work with: 6 weeks-grade 5.

Commitment: Weekday and weekend opportunities 2-3 hours per week, once a month rotation for weekend positions, weekly 90 minute shifts on Wednesday evenings.
Skills: Patience, early childhood or education background, helpful, creative, kid friendly, attention to detail
Can be done by: Teens 14+, couples, parents with children 11+

Organization & Administration

The variety of opportunities is endless! Some options include: set-up, putting special events details together, shopping for children’s programs, sort and display donated items for our Care Ministries, data entry, create Word documents, copy, collate, assemble packets, make reminder calls, copy sermon CDs, assist offering counting, sign-in leaders for programs. There are a variety of tasks and times!

Commitment: Variety of days/times
Skills: Attention to detail, ability to reach, lift, and roll carts, omputer skills, knowledge of office processes, customer service, teamwork.
Can be done by: Individuals, couples, parents with children 11+

Prayer Ministry

Do you have a heart for prayer and love for the people who need God’s answers for their lives? Can you intercede for others facing challenges and trials?

Commitment: Daily, weekly, or monthly rotations in addition to special crisis and emergency circumstances in and outside Hosanna! Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, some flexibility
Skills: Spiritual maturity, call to prayer for those in need, prayer and SOZO Ministry Training provided
Can be done by: Individuals, couples, some options are appropriate for families

Lights! Camera! Action! Assist Tech staff on camera, graphics, light, and sound for services, programs/classes, and special events.

Commitment: Weekday and weekends, 2-4 hours.
Skills: Knowledge of video, camera, and/or lighting helpful. Able to think on your feet and stand on them, too. Camera operation requires you to be able to hold your arms up for extended periods.
Can be done by: Individuals, couples, teens 15+

Small Group Leaders for Students

Facilitate discussion and build relationships in small groups (students grades 6-12). Model an authentic personal relationship with Jesus, that is contagious. Materials and training is provided along with coaching throughout the year.

Commitment: Wednesday evenings 90 minutes, a three year commitment is the most desirable, allowing teens to build relationships with small group leaders.
Skills: Patience, ability to direct small group conversation, and keep students on task
Can be done by: Individuals, couples

Welcome • Greet • Usher

Offer a smile and greet those attending programs and services. Help with directions, provide materials, or signing in for classes.

Ushers: handout programs, collect offering, and assist guests with seating.

Commitment: Weekdays and weekends with options before and after service allowing you to attend service at your regular time. 1-2 hours, one shift per month.
Skills: Confident meeting and greeting, able to stand and walk the building when necessary, hospitality
Can be done by: Individuals, couples, families, younger children may join their parents as greeters, teens, and parents can volunteer together assisting with sign-in and room host couples are welcome to greet and attend the course together if desired.
