Frequently-Asked Questions

What kind of church is Hosanna?

At Hosanna! we are Christians first and Lutherans second. We associate freely with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA; www.elca.org) and the Willow Creek Association (www.willowcreek.org). Hosanna! teaches that the Holy Bible is God's Word, without error in the original manuscripts, and our final authority in matters of faith and life.

How can I get involved in such a large church?

We recommend Alpha as a first step toward getting connected in the church. The Alpha course allows you to explore the basics of Christianity or enrich the faith you already have while making new friends. Adults of any age or background can benefit from the relaxed atmosphere and low-pressure setting. Each of the 10 sessions begins with a meal and Alpha Sprouts (Alpha curriculum for children) is available. The Spring 2008 session is scheduled for Sundays, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., September 7-November 23, or Thursdays, September 11-November 20, 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Contact Maja, Alpha Coordinator, 952-898-9612 to learn about the next course or click here to register.

Hosanna! is grounded in small groups as we believe the needs of people are met most effectively through the relationships developed in the small group setting. Opportunities to connect with other people are offered throughout the year. To learn how you can get connected, contact Susan, Small Group Assimilator, 952-898-9744.

How can I meet the pastors and learn more about Hosanna?
What is the process for membership?

The Bridge partnership class is offered three times a year and presents a clear picture of The River of Life, Hosanna's metaphor for spiritual growth. If you have not yet completed Alpha, it is recommended that you do so before enrolling in the next 6-week Bridge course.
