H.E.A.R.T. – Hosanna! Emergency Action Response Team

MISSION STATEMENT: Sharing the heart and hope of Christ in times of crisis.

VISION STATEMENT: Restoring God’s Kingdom, one disaster at a time, through individuals, churches, businesses, and communities.

CORE VALUES: Peace restored, Love poured, Compassion given, Prayer provided, and HOPE renewed.

BIBLE VERSE: He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:4 (NLT)

H.E.A.R.T. was developed to formalize the response Hosanna! would take when disaster or crisis impacts God’s people and to assist people and communities to respond and recover from crisis and disaster. Additionally, as we minister to those who are hurting, we have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ. It will also afford us the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ as we minister to those who are hurting. This team is comprised of leaders in various areas of expertise, as well as frontline responders. We desire to provide assistance with shelter, food, love, purpose, and most importantly Jesus!

How Does Hosanna! Decide When to Respond to a Crisis Situation?

When a crisis occurs, the team will evaluate the following: impact, security, severity, resources needed/available, amount of loss, danger levels, availability of volunteers, distance, personal connections, and incoming response requests.

Join H.E.A.R.T. -

We need you! There is room for EVERYONE to volunteer.

Each team is designed to be co-lead by two people, with a countless number of support coming from each team, especially the Frontline Teams. We desire to have interested and trained volunteers, ready to respond when a natural disaster occurs. We realize that most people cannot drop everything they are doing when a crisis hits, but the more people we have that are ready, the more likely that we’ll have enough to respond. Will you consider either leading or joining a team? Brief descriptions are listed here.

If you are interested in joining a team, review the Summary of Teams and email your area of interest to HEART@hosannalc.org. Indicate your desire to either co-lead or participate on a team. A HEART leader will contact you with further details.
